The Area Comptroller, Mr Olukayode Afeni, made the disclosure during a news conference on Monday in Idiroko.
Afeni said the command kept its momentum and achieved strong results quickly through intelligence-led actions, resilience, and the steady dedication of brave officers.
According to him, the command seized 1,204 bags of foreign parboiled rice (equal to two trailer loads) and 2,547 parcels of cannabis sativa of various sizes.
He further said that the team also seized 545 kegs of petrol (13,625 litres), 36 cartons of Bardinet syrup and eight packs of scented oil.
Other items seized include 13 used tyres, 50 bags of imported sugar, eight bundles of used clothes and 15 sacks of used clothes.
Afeni added that five sacks of used handbags, two sacks of used shoes, two used cars and two antiques were also seized.
“However, the above seizures send a strong message to those not willing to embrace legitimate business.
“The command will keep doing its main job for the good of the country’s economy,”
“Also, we remain steadfast in protecting our national economy and providing security against those who choose to defy the law,” he said.
Afeni noted that the command generated N285,652,460 in revenue from January to date, surpassing the same period in 2025.
The area comptroller said the revenue was generated from baggage assessments and the auction sale of petroleum products (PMS) intercepted during anti-smuggling operations.
He commended the Comptroller -General of NCS, Bashir Adeniyi, and his management team for their continued confidence in the command’s ability to execute its duties with excellence and dedication.
