by Toye Faleye

Royal drummers have relocated to the Bodija, Ibadan, home of Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, as he prepares to accede the throne of his ancestors to become the 44th Olubadan, succeeding the deceased 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.

The royal drummers are announcing and signalling a new chapter in Ladoja’s life upon passing into the great beyond of the late Oba Olakulehin.

Activities shifted to Oba Ladoja’s residence as thousands of well-wishers and the palace drummers stormed his abode to pay him homage in a bid to register their solidarity with the next in line to the stool.

In the order of ascendancy to the throne of Olubadan, Oba Ladoja, who is the Otun Olubadan, is the next in hierarchy to the stool.
