President Tinubu has ordered Vice President Kashim Shettima to proceed to the United Kingdom to accompany the body of former President Muhammadu Buhari back to Nigeria.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, stated this in a press release dated Sunday, June 13, 2025.
The President also ordered that flags be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect for the departed leader.
He announced the passing of his predecessor, President Muhammadu Buhari, who died today in London at about 4.30 pm, following a prolonged illness.
President Tinubu also spoke with Mrs Aishat Buhari, the former President’s widow, and offered his deep condolences.
