ROYAL ENDORSEMENT: Soun of Ogbomoso Rallies Support for Presidential Economic Councils

His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, the Soun of Ogbomoso, with Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, Director-General of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) and the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Abuja, Nigeria: In a moment rich with tradition, culture and national significance, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, the Soun of Ogbomoso, led a distinguished delegation of traditional rulers to the office of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, Director-General of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) and the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

The visit, held in Abuja, was historic – more than ceremonial—as it was a powerful gesture of solidarity and endorsement from the Ogbomoso traditional institution.

Oba Olaoye, speaking with warmth and conviction, described Prince Adeyemi’s appointment as a divine opportunity to serve Nigeria at a critical juncture in its economic recovery.

“The position you occupy is not just for you, but for the entire country,” the monarch declared.

“You must see it as a call to support this administration in its efforts to grow the Nigerian economy. Be assured that Ogbomoso people, home and abroad, are behind you.”

The Soun praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its commitment to rebuilding the economy and emphasised the strategic importance of the two councils under Prince Adeyemi’s leadership.

In response, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew expressed deep gratitude for the royal visit, describing it as both humbling and energising.

He pledged to uphold the trust placed in him by President Tinubu and to execute the councils’ mandates with diligence, patriotism, and a clear focus on national progress.

“We will not relent until Nigeria stands firmly as the economic powerhouse of Africa,” he reaffirmed.

The Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) functions as the Presidency’s think-tank, offering data-driven policy guidance to stimulate growth, enhance fiscal discipline, and promote inclusive development.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) is tasked with attracting foreign investments, forging global partnerships, and coordinating strategic interventions that elevate Nigeria’s economic standing on the world stage.

For the Soun and his council of chiefs, the visit was not just a cultural courtesy—it was a resounding vote of confidence in a son of the soil now entrusted with shaping Nigeria’s economic destiny.
