Gusau: The Federal Government has deployed additional troops to Zamfara as part of its ongoing effort to root out bandits and other criminal elements in the state.
The Minister of State for Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, disclosed this while addressing the gathering of All Progressive Congress (APC) supporters in Gusau on Friday.
“Right away, I am proceeding to meet with the troops to give them a matching order to deal with terrorists and criminal elements in the state decisively.
“The administration of President Bola Tinubu is leaving no stone unturned as regards the issue of insecurity affecting the country.
“Henceforth, nobody should say they are waiting for an order from above.
“We are the ones to give the order, and by this, we are directing troops to end all forms of criminality across the nation,” Matawalle said.
He commended the APC supporters for endorsing President Tinubu as the sole candidate of the party in the 2027 general elections.
Matawalle, who described the President as “a visionary leader with people-oriented policies and programmes”, gave the example of the construction of the Zaria-Sokoto dual carriageway as a testimony.
He urged APC members to continue mobilising support for Tinubu ahead of the general elections.
