Lagos: Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to Nigerians, urging them to embrace unity, peace, and goodwill as the nation celebrates the festive season.

Ojelabi called for national unity and a collective resolve to save Nigeria from forces undermining its future.

The APC chairman made the call in a Christmas message made available to reporters in Lagos on Thursday.

He urged Nigerians to embrace peace, love, and goodwill as they celebrate with family and friends across the country.

“As we gather with family and friends today, I wish everyone peace, love, and the warmth of God’s grace that Christmas comes with,” Ojelabi said.

He described Christmas as a season of joy, hope, and renewed strength anchored on the birth of Jesus Christ.

“Christmas is all about joy, hope, and happiness, and the assurance of peace, love, and grace in abundance,” he said.

Ojelabi said that the birth of Christ reassures believers of God’s presence and offers renewed excitement for the future.

Quoting Isaiah 9:6, he noted that Jesus Christ embodies peace, joy, and hope for humanity.

“Jesus is peace and joy, the reason for our hope and happiness,” he said.

He, consequently, urged Nigerians to use the season to love one another and promote peaceful coexistence.

“Let us give peace a chance in our dealings and become agents of peace and prosperity,” he said.

Ojelabi called on citizens to cooperate with leaders to reposition Nigeria globally.

“Let us work with our leaders to restore Nigeria’s rightful place in the comity of nations,” he said.

The APC chairman urged civic responsibility and public participation, especially among Lagos residents.

Meanwhile, he described the coming year as significant for national development and collective progress.

“To every Lagos resident, your voice matters; Engage, stay informed, and participate in civic processes.

“Together, we can shape a brighter future for our children and generations to come,” Ojelabi said.

He wished Nigerians peaceful celebrations and a prosperous New Year.
