Maiduguri: A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Borno State, operating under the banner of the PDP Stakeholders National Working Caretaker Committee (PDPNCC), on Monday declared support for the leadership of Chief Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
The group’s Chairman, Dr. Grema Kyari, said their backing was rooted in Wike’s ability to provide the party with “clear direction, courage, and responsible leadership at a time of challenges.”
Kyari also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for rejecting the outcome of the party’s recent convention in Ibadan, which produced Kabiru Turaki as National Chairman.
The stakeholders further directed former Borno PDP Chairman, Alhaji Zanna Gaddama, to coordinate past executives across wards, local governments, and the state to hand over party documents and properties to the newly constituted caretaker committee led by Mr. Abbas Jibrin (Chairman) and Mr. Haruna Audu (Secretary) within 48 hours.
“Any attempt to resist this lawful directive shall amount to impersonation, and such actions will not be taken lightly under the law,” Kyari warned.
