Ekoli-Edda, Ebonyi State: Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (APC–Abia North) has pledged to work tirelessly to ensure the All Progressives Congress (APC) secures victory in Abia State during the 2027 general elections.
Kalu made the declaration during his annual New Year visit to the APC Chairman in Ebonyi, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, in Ekoli, Edda Local Government Area. He said he would deploy all available resources to wrest power from the ruling Labour Party in Abia.
“I will support President Bola Tinubu and the APC gubernatorial candidate in the elections. I will put my heart on the field to ensure that the APC wins a landslide in Abia,” Kalu stated, while noting that although Governor Alex Otti is his friend, his focus remains on total victory for the APC.
The former Abia governor also urged state governors to prioritize security in their domains rather than leaving the responsibility solely to the President. He recalled that during his tenure as governor, Abia experienced peace and stability, while other states faced heightened insecurity.
Kalu commended Ebonyi Governor Francis Nwifuru for maintaining peace and security in the state, describing him as a leader who has continued to uphold stability in his domain.
He further described Chief Okoro-Emegha as an embodiment of loyalty, stressing that his longstanding relationship with the Ebonyi APC chairman was built on trust and shared political values.
Kalu recalled mentoring Okoro-Emegha politically and said his annual New Year visit was a tradition that underscored their bond.
Kalu emphasized that his commitment to deliver Abia to APC was part of a broader push to strengthen the party’s presence in the South East, assuring supporters that the 2027 elections would mark a turning point for the APC in the region.
