COAS Shaibu Urges Niger Troops to Intensify Fight Against Terrorists

Abuja: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu has charged troops in Niger State to sustain the onslaught against terrorists and criminal elements threatening peace and security in the region.

Shaibu delivered the directive during an operational visit to the 18 Brigade at Latini Barracks, Bida, where he commended officers and soldiers for their professionalism, resilience, and sacrifices in maintaining relative peace within their area of responsibility. He urged them not to relent in efforts to degrade and neutralise bandits and terrorists.

The COAS assured personnel that the Nigerian Army under his leadership remains committed to improving their welfare and that of their families, describing welfare as a key enabler of sustained operational effectiveness.

He noted that Army Headquarters is giving deliberate, continuous attention to welfare-related issues to boost morale and enhance mission accomplishment across formations.

Reaffirming the Army’s resolve, he pledged continued support to enable troops to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities and safeguard national security.
