Abuja: President Bola Tinubu on Monday received Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf at the State House, Abuja, in a meeting that underscored ongoing engagement between the presidency and state leadership.
The meeting comes amid speculation that Yusuf may defect from the New Nigeria People’s Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The visit marked the governor’s first known audience with President Tinubu since the President’s return from Abu Dhabi, where he attended the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
Details of the closed-door meeting were not disclosed to State House correspondents.
It is, however, believed to be linked to ongoing consultations on political realignments.
