Kano to Begin 2026 Hajj Airlift on May 14

Kano:  The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed May 14, 2026, as the commencement date for the airlift of intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, announced this in a statement on Monday.

He stated that the announcement was made by Director-General Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim-Matawalle at the Hajj Induction Course closing ceremony.

According to the D-G, the date is in line with the schedule released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

“Max Air has been designated as the official carrier for the state.

He assured pilgrims that all necessary arrangements are in place for a seamless, memorable journey.

Earlier, the Chairman of the board, Alhaji Yusuf Lawan, urged intending pilgrims to regularly study their induction materials to better understand Hajj rites.

He also advised them to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of both Nigerian and Saudi Arabian authorities throughout the pilgrimage.
