Akure:  No fewer than seven people were injured as a two-storey building under construction collapsed in Akure on Tuesday.

An eyewitness who preferred anonymity said workers at the building site were victims of the collapse and had been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Speaking on the collapse, the state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr Sunday Olajide, said investigations would  be launched to uncover both the immediate and long-term causes of the incident.
