Immediately after announcing their resignation, the lawmakers declared their full support for Governor Abba Yusuf.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Press Secretary of the Kano State House of Assembly, Kamaludden Shawai, and made available to newsmen in Kano on Saturday.
According to him, those who resigned their membership of the NNPP included the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker, the Majority Leader, the Deputy Majority Leader, Garba Fammar, and the Chief Whip, Chief Whip Muddasir Zawachiki.
Others were lawmakers representing constituencies such as Ajingi, Albasu, Bagwai/Shanono, Bebeji, Bunkure, Dawakin Kudu, Fagge, Gabasawa, Garko, Gwale, Karaye, Kura/Garun Malam, Madobi, Minjibir, Rano, Tarauni, and Wudil.
Shawai said that 22 members of the House were involved in the defection.
