NDLEA Busts Colorado Lab, Seizes Drugs Nationwide

Abuja: NDLEA has arrested a drug kingpin operating a Colorado synthetic cannabis facility at Badeku, Ibadan.

The arrest was disclosed on Sunday by the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr Femi Babafemi, in Abuja.

Babafemi said the suspect and an accomplice were arrested on Saturday, Feb. 7, following an operation earlier that week.

Operatives recovered eight litres of precursor chemicals, 14g of skunk and production tools.

Also recovered: N7.4 million and two vehicles, a Mercedes-Benz SUV and a Toyota Highlander.

In addition to the Ibadan operation, NDLEA in Kwara intercepted a petrol tanker travelling from Lagos to Maiduguri on Saturday.

A search found 395,400 tramadol capsules hidden in the truck. The driver was arrested.

Elsewhere, a couple was arrested in Imo with 203kg of skunk, while 420kg was recovered in Ondo.

NDLEA Marine Command seized 31 wraps of cocaine in a handbag at Yekeme, Badagry, Lagos State.

“The suspect arrived from Côte d’Ivoire by passenger boat on Friday,” Babafemi said.

On Feb. 4, operatives also arrested a suspect on Lagos Island with 3.6kg of Canadian loud and colorado.

In yet another operation, a dealer was arrested at Asata, Ezeagu, with skunk, meth, cocaine, molly and N457,700 seized.

Meanwhile, NDLEA officers continued WADA sensitisation nationwide in schools, worship centres, workplaces, and communities at the weekend.

Activities that weekend included lectures at schools in Anambra, Oyo and Lagos states.

The Niger command paid a WADA advocacy visit to the Emir of Suleja, Alhaji Mohammed Auwal Ibrahim.
