Shipping Surge at Lagos Ports as 28 Vessels Dock — 18 Discharging, 12 Newly Arrived

Lagos: A total of 28 ships are currently at Apapa, Tin Can Island, and Lekki Deep Sea ports in Lagos. Of these, 18 ships are presently discharging general cargoes, petroleum products, and other goods, while 12 ships and tankers have recently arrived at the three ports, awaiting berthing for various imports.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) stated this in its publication, `Shipping Position’, a copy of which was made available to journalists on Thursday in Lagos.

NPA detailed that the vessels include container ships, crude oil tankers, and carriers of diesel, blended stock, aviation fuel, and general cargoes.

The document noted that 12 ships and tankers have arrived at the three ports and are awaiting berthing for cargoes such as bulk urea, aviation fuel, bulk wheat, general cargoes, containers, and petrol.

NPA also reported that 18 ships are currently discharging a range of goods including general cargoes, bulk pallets, bulk urea, bulk gypsum, diesel, raw crude oil, bulk wheat, and trucks.
