Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Gift Monday, Christy Ucheibe and eight others have arrived at the Super Falcons camp in Yaoundé for friendlies with Cameroon.
Mary Akinsola, the Media Officer of the team, on Wednesday said that “the team will be training by 4:30 p.m. at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Abidjo as more players continue to arrive”.
According to Akinsola, other players who have arrived include: Ngozi Okobi-Okeogene, who plays in Canada; Glory Ogbonna, who plays in Israel; and Joy Omewa, who is with Nottingham Forest in England.
Others are Esther Onyenezide, based in Madrid; Fatima Okolo, who plays for Abia Angels in Nigeria; Favour Nkwocha from FC Robo in Nigeria; Precious Christopher, who plays in Tanzania; and Oluwatosin Demehin, who represents Galatasaray Sportive in Turkey.
The double header will be played on Saturday and Tuesday, March 3, both in Yaoundé.
The friendly serves as preparation for the 13th Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) scheduled for March 13 to April 3, 2026.
All four semi-finalists in the tournament will qualify directly for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
