Kano (Nigeria): Dr Ibrahim Galadima has died at the age of 78. Known as the former Chairman of the defunct Nigerian Football Association and as Galadiman Fagge, he was a prominent figure in Nigerian football.
His younger brother, Alhaji Abba Galadima, expressed deep sorrow in a statement, saying his brother “passed away on Saturday at a hospital in Kano metropolis, leaving a void that words cannot fill.”
Describing the loss as deeply painful, he noted Galadima’s devotion to public service. The late Galadima also contributed significantly to community leadership and the growth of football administration in Nigeria.
He said the funeral prayer would be held on Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Fagge Juma’at Mosque in Kano State.

Abba Galadima prayed for Allah’s mercy, saying, “May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.”
He served as Commissioner of Works and as chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission during his career in public service.
His administrative skills, integrity, and commitment to advancing sports development, especially football, garnered him widespread respect in Kano State and across the nation.
As Galadiman Fagge, Galadima played a prominent role in traditional leadership. He contributed to community cohesion and local governance in Kano State.
