Abuja: Operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 15 male suspects for alleged involvement in the illegal trade in unspecified types of radioactive solid minerals.
EFCC Spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said the suspects were arrested on Sunday along Suleja-Maji Road in Niger State.
Further investigation revealed the suspects had been transporting the radioactive solid minerals in three trucks. These minerals were headed to multiple locations within Nigeria for unspecified reasons.
Oyewale added that the suspects are currently undergoing further investigations at the Kaduna Zonal Directorate and will soon be charged in court.
