Liverpool’s longtime star, Mohamed Salah, confirms his exit after nine years with the club.

Mohamed Salah has confirmed he will leave Liverpool at the end of this season, closing a celebrated chapter in the club’s history. Mohamed Salah, 33, joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017. In nine seasons, he scored 255 goals in 435 appearances, making him the club’s third-highest scorer. During his tenure, he won multiple trophies, including two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the Club World Cup.

Last season, Salah was named Player of the Year as Liverpool won the Premier League. He then signed a two-year contract extension at the end of the campaign. This season has been more challenging. In an interview in November, Salah publicly expressed criticism of the club, then later apologised. As the season concludes, attention turns to his upcoming departure from the club.

In a heartfelt message posted on social media, Salah broke the news himself:

“Hello, everyone. Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

“I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people, would become part of my life. Liverpool is not just a football club — it’s a passion, it’s a history, it’s a spirit.

“We celebrated victory, we won the most important trophies, and we fought together through the hardest times of our lives.

“To the fans… I don’t have enough words. The support you showed me through the best times of my career and stood by me in the toughest — that is something I will never forget and carry with me always.

“Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will always be one of you. This club will always be my home — to my family and to me. Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.”
