Trailer Ploughs Into APC Campaign in Osun, 1 Dead, 7 Injured

Osogbo: Tragedy struck in Ede, Osun State, on Wednesday when a trailer rammed into a campaign procession of the All Progressives Congress (APC), leaving one person dead and seven others injured.

The incident occurred in the Oke Gada area during a campaign walk for APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji. Witnesses said the trailer veered off course after suffering a brake failure and ploughed into the crowd.

The injured victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

APC’s Director of Media and Information in the state, Kola Olabisi, confirmed the accident, noting that full details were still being gathered. He said the party had dispatched a team to ascertain the actual cause.

Meanwhile, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun Command, Agnes Ogungbemi, said the command had yet to receive an official report on the incident.
