Lagos: NEM Insurance Plc has reinforced its commitment to employee well-being by organising a fitness walk to promote regular exercise and preventive healthcare among its staff.
The initiative was central to the company’s wellness efforts, fostering healthier lifestyles and enhancing employee collaboration.
The walk began at the company’s head office in Obanikoro, along Ikorodu Road, through Maryland and back to the office premises.
Employees eagerly joined, demonstrating strong commitment and enthusiasm for the wellness programme.
The company seized the occasion to highlight the value of insuring lives and property, while showcasing its “NEM Care” service.
“NEM Care” is a customer-focused service designed to give policyholders special attention and respectful service delivery.
Medical checks were also conducted for employees to assess vital signs and provide insights into their health status.
The checks highlighted the importance of early detection and preventive healthcare in maintaining long-term well-being.
The programme also featured recreational activities, including aerobics sessions and a table tennis contest that encouraged participation and added excitement.
The company also celebrated staff members whose birthdays fell during the period, creating a relaxed atmosphere that strengthened team spirit and a sense of belonging.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of NEM Insurance Plc, Mr Andrew Ikekhua, stressed the importance of regular physical fitness.
“Regular fitness is no longer an option; it is a necessity for longevity and peak performance.
“At NEM, we believe our greatest asset is our people, and their health remains our top priority,” he said.
