Abuja: The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, centred his Easter message on the imperative of unity and sacrifice among Nigerians and the Armed Forces.
In his 2026 Easter goodwill message, Oluyede highlighted unity, courage, selflessness, and the triumph of good over evil as values that define the military and are vital to the nation.
He said Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection show true leadership through sacrifice and commitment.
He praised Armed Forces members for bravery and loyalty in defending the nation.
He honoured fallen heroes, assuring their sacrifice will always be remembered.
Oluyede also honoured wounded personnel and deployed troops, calling their resilience a national inspiration.
He urged military personnel to stay united, vigilant, and professional, stressing teamwork with security agencies and cooperation with communities to address security challenges.
He thanked service members’ families, especially those with deployed relatives, for their patience and support, noting their impact on morale.
He called on Nigerians to unite and prioritise collective sacrifice in confronting insecurity, reaffirming the vital role of unity in national progress.
He noted that cooperation is essential to lasting peace and stability in the country.
Oluyede expressed optimism that unity, courage, and faith will enable the Armed Forces to protect Nigeria’s territory.
He wished all personnel, their families, and Nigerians a peaceful, blessed Easter.
