Abeokuta: In a bold move to revitalise Ogun’s civil service, Governor Dapo Abiodun has appointed Mr Olanrewaju Saka as the new Head of Service, signalling expected reforms and an anticipated improvement in leadership effectiveness across the state’s administration.
The appointment followed the statutory retirement of the immediate past Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya.
The announcement is contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi.
Talabi said Saka previously served as Permanent Secretary of the Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services before his latest appointment.
He said Saka joined the Ogun Public Service as a classroom teacher on Grade Level 08 on May 15, 1993.
Talabi added that Saka transferred to the mainstream civil service as a Senior Administrative Officer on Grade Level 09 in 2006.
“Born on Feb. 15, 1968, Saka is a seasoned administrator with vast experience in policy coordination and implementation strategies.
“He is a member of several professional bodies, including the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management,” Talabi said.
Saka is also a Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development.
The government expressed confidence that Saka’s leadership will drive innovation and improve the state’s public service. His appointment takes effect immediately. With this new leadership, Ogun State reiterates its commitment to driving innovation and reform within the civil service.
