Wadada Clinches Nasarawa APC Guber Ticket in Landslide Victory

Lafia: Senator Ahmed Wadada has won the Nasarawa APC governorship primary, securing the party’s ticket for the 2027 election.

Prof. Theodore Maiyaki, Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee in the state, announced the result on Friday in Lafia.

Maiyaki said that Wadada secured the highest number of valid votes cast by party members across the 147 electoral wards in the 13 Local Government Areas of the state, defeating six other aspirants.

According to him, Wadada polled 195,285 votes to clinch the party’s governorship ticket for the 2027 election.

He gave the breakdown of votes for other aspirants: Adabson, 65; Abdullahi-Adamu, 246; Liman SAN, 863; Yakubu, 336; Sani-Haruna, 5,844; Adamu, 39,675.

Sani-Haruna received 5,844 votes, and Adamu polled 39,675.

Maiyaki said that the committee monitored the accreditation process and ensured transparency in the collation of results.

He said that having satisfied the requirements of the APC constitution and electoral guidelines, Wadada was duly declared the winner and returned elected as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 governorship election in the state.
