Ado-Ekiti: The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rounded off its senatorial primaries in Ekiti State, producing Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Cyril Fasuyi, and Yemi Adaramodu as flagbearers for Ekiti Central, North, and South districts respectively.

The outcome sets the stage for a fierce contest as the ruling party positions its frontline contenders ahead of the 2027 elections.

On Monday night in Ado Ekiti, Asipa Adedoyin, Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, announced the results.

After polling 29,586 votes as the sole contestant in the exercise, Bamidele was declared the winner of the Ekiti Central Senatorial District primary by Adedoyin.

In the same primary, Bamisaye Oladipupo trailed with 3,694 votes in what was a closely watched contest.

In the Ekiti South Senatorial District primary, Adaramodu won with 12,200 votes, defeating former National Assembly member Biodun Olujimi.

Olujimi earned 7,420 votes, while Bamidele Faparusi finished with 5,502 votes in the party’s senatorial contest.

Adedoyin commended party members for the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the state’s three senatorial districts.

He highlighted the process’s transparency and credibility. It also aligned with the party’s guidelines for the primary elections.

“The exercise ran peacefully and transparently, in line with the party’s guidelines,” Adedoyin stated.
