Police Nab 34 Suspects for Crimes across Kaduna

Kaduna: The Police Command in Kaduna State has arrested 34 suspects linked to robbery, theft, and other offences during a recent crackdown aimed at curbing crime across the state.

The state Commissioner of Police (CP), Rabiu Muhammad, disclosed at a press briefing on Tuesday in Kaduna.

Muhammad said that the arrested suspects were involved in crimes ranging from alleged armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, cyber-crimes, and impersonation.

He also said that the suspects were arrested between Nov. 6 and 22  during the command’s intensified efforts to combat criminality in the state.

According to him, 13 of the suspects were arrested for alleged armed robbery, while seven were suspected kidnappers terrorising Sanga Local Government Area.

Four other suspects were arrested for alleged armed robbery, rape, and cybercrimes, and we also arrested nine members of a suspected armed robbery syndicate involved in drugging and robbing victims.

“We also arrested one suspect for alleged impersonation and posing as a medical doctor.”

The CP also said that the command recovered several exhibits, including a pump-action rifle, cutlasses, a Volkswagen vehicle, laptops, phones, and plasma televisions.

He said that all suspects would remain in custody and be duly charged in court.

He commends the command’s operatives, especially the Operation Fushin Kada Team, the Divisional Police Officers, local vigilantes, and community informants, whose timely intelligence enabled the feat.

The police boss also appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, under whose leadership and guidance the recorded achievements were made.

He further appreciated Gov. Uba Sani for his continued support and cooperation.

“We urge members of the public to continue providing credible information and to remain vigilant. Together, we will reclaim our communities from the hands of criminal elements, “Muhammad said.
