Abuja: The Democratic Front (TDF) has commended the military collaboration between the United States and Nigerian authorities that led to recent precision air strikes against terrorist targets in Sokoto State.
In a statement issued by its Chairman, Mallam Danjuma Muhammad, and Secretary, Chief Wale Adedayo, the group said the operations demonstrated the strength of international cooperation in tackling insecurity.
TDF noted that President Bola Tinubu gave his approval before the strikes were carried out, ensuring civilian populations were not affected.
The group recalled that joint intelligence and surveillance missions had been ongoing for weeks, culminating in the coordinated strikes. It added that Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister,
Yussuf Tuggar, was in contact with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio before the operation, while US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth later expressed gratitude for Nigeria’s support.
According to TDF, the collaboration showed that Nigeria’s territorial integrity was respected, as the strikes were conducted at the behest of the Nigerian government.
The group urged citizens to support Tinubu’s administration in its efforts to make the country safer.
