Abuja: President Bola Tinubu has pledged continued Federal Government backing for tourism, agriculture, food security, and rural development, declaring the Argungu International Fishing Festival a powerful symbol of Nigeria’s stability, cultural richness, and national unity.

Tinubu made the pledge at the grand finale of the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival. Tinubu praised the security arrangements, emphasising that cultural and tourism-driven events flourish only in a peaceful environment.

Abdullahi Garba from Argungu came second with a 40kg fish.
He was awarded N750,000, a brand-new car and a Hajj seat by the state government.
Two contestants from Jigawa and Kogi states jointly claimed third place with a 33kg catch.
They received N1 million and a motorcycle each as prizes for their efforts.
The four winning fish were later presented to the President as souvenirs, drawing cheers from the crowd.
