Dunamis Church Donates Patrol Vehicle to FRSC

by Kehinde Adegoke

Dr Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), has donated a patrol vehicle to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to support road safety enforcement in Abuja.

The donation took place on Sunday at the church headquarters in Abuja, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

At the event, Dr Enenche and his wife, Dr Becky Enenche, were decorated as Honorary Special Corps Marshals.

Enenche said the gesture reflects the ministry’s commitment to serving God and humanity, stressing that love for God must be demonstrated through tangible service to others.

“We act to save lives and ease the personnel’s work. We want to ensure people fulfil their days instead of being cautious because of the safety situation,” he said.

He emphasised that the donation is intended to help save lives and make FRSC personnel’s work easier, especially along the busy Airport Road corridor.

The cleric expressed concern about rising road crashes, noting that the church has partnered with FRSC to help reduce accidents.

“We pray and act. Our strength is in the Lord. When God inspires you, act on it. Walking closely with God sparks compassion for humanity,” Enenche added.

In her remarks, Dr Becky Enenche said the ministry will continue supporting various sectors in Nigeria and beyond.

Assistant Corps Marshal Godwin Omiko, representing the Corps Marshal, described the donation as a significant act that encourages others to support road safety initiatives.

“Road safety is a shared responsibility. Today, Dunamis International has answered its call to assist us in making the environment safe for motorists. The Corps Marshal is extremely pleased with this partnership,” he said.

Omiko emphasised that the donation does not exempt church members from traffic laws.

“Don’t say because the vehicle was donated by Dunamis, FRSC cannot arrest you. FRSC will do that; everyone must avoid one-way driving, avoid using phones while driving, and obey speed limits,” he warned.

FCT Sector Commander, Mr Felix Theman, revealed that 597 people died in road crashes nationwide between Dec. 15 and Jan. 15, with significant fatalities recorded along Airport Road.

“The vehicle will greatly improve enforcement. The presiding pastor is our key partner, supporting with fuel and deploying our men for each programme. This is not a licence for reckless driving. Rather, it lets us enforce the law more strictly,” he said.

National Coordinator of Special Marshals, Mr Adaji Usman, noted that Enenche has supported the corps for over 30 years.

The Lugbe Unit Commander, Mr Muktar Garga, expressed appreciation, noting that the cleric fulfilled the promise of the vehicle within two weeks of a formal request.

The donation underscores the role of faith-based institutions in civic responsibility, blending spiritual commitment with practical action to enhance public safety.
