Nasarawa Speaker urges residents’ peaceful co-existence for devt

Lafia: The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Danladi Jatau, has urged the Eggon people and other residents to continue co-existing peacefully for development to thrive in the state.

Jatau made the call when the Deputy Speaker, Mr Muhammad Oyanki, led Eggon people from his constituency on a courtesy visit to his office in Lafia, on Monday.

He stated that the call became necessary due to the importance of peace in human and societal development.

“I am an advocate of peace. I urge you to wherever you find yourselves, live peacefully with your neighbours.

“This is because there will be no development without peace,” the speaker said.

According to him, the Eggon nation and other people of the state should continue to live in unity and tolerate one another, irrespective of their affiliations.

He also urged them and other members of the constituency to support the deputy speaker, Governor Abdullahi Sule, and other leaders, enabling them to succeed.

In a remark, the deputy speaker told the speaker that Eggon from his constituency had come to appreciate him for the good work he was doing.

He also assured his Eggon people of his commitment to continue to provide all-inclusive leadership.

Earlier, Mr Joshua Yohanna, the Chairman of the Eggon Youth Association, Doma LGA, and the Leader of the delegation, stated that they were in the house to appreciate the Deputy Speaker for the good work he was doing in his constituency.

Yohanna also condoled with the speaker over the demise of his younger sister, Hajaratu, and prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest.

He assured the speaker and the deputy speaker of his prayers and support for their success.
