Gov Ododo Pledges Full Backing for Security Agencies to Combat Crime in Kogi

Lokoja: Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has pledged unwavering support to security agencies in their fight against criminality, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to fostering peace, protecting lives, and ensuring a secure environment for socio-economic development across the state.

Ododo pledged on Thursday when the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Naziru Kankarofi, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Lokoja.

He assured continuous collaboration between the state government and the police command to sustain peace and law and order.

“We will continue to strengthen the collaboration between the state government and the police command to ensure peace, security, and community development,” Ododo said.

Earlier, Kankarofi stated that his visit was to express appreciation for the governor’s sustained support for the police and other security agencies in the state.

He briefed the governor on recent security initiatives, crime prevention strategies, and forthcoming community policing programmes of the command.

The police commissioner also emphasised the importance of intelligence sharing, inter-agency collaboration, and joint operations to curb violent crimes in the state.

Both leaders expressed optimism that the strengthened partnership would promote a safer and more prosperous Kogi.
