Lagos: First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid glowing tribute to the late industrialist, Chief Adekunle Ojora, describing him as a devout Muslim whose life embodied religious harmony and left behind a lasting legacy of faith and unity in Nigeria.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu made the remarks during a condolence visit to the Ojora family on Saturday at their residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.
She was received by the deceased’s daughter, Dr Toyin Saraki, and her husband, former Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki.
“You have always been in my mind and that of the President. We cannot forget him. He was always there with us as a family.
“This is also my family. We will miss him, his wise counsel, support and the great role he played in times past,” Mrs Tinubu said.
Speaking on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, she offered comfort to the widow, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, and commended her strength as the family’s matriarch.
“Your relationship as a couple was an inspiration to many of us. Many wish to have that sort of bond,” the First Lady said.
Recalling encounters at church services, Mrs Tinubu noted that, despite being a devout Muslim, Ojora embraced interfaith fellowship with sincerity.
She said the family had much to cherish in the legacies of the late Otunba of Lagos.
According to her, Ojora distinguished himself not only as an industrialist but as a steadfast promoter of religious harmony in words and deeds.
Members of the Ojora family, led by the matriarch, expressed gratitude for the visit and prayed for the success of the President and his wife.
Chief Adekunle Ojora died on Jan. 28 at 93 and was buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
