Donald Trump’s Net Worth Hits $6.5bn, Cementing Status as Richest U.S. President

by Toye Faleye

Donald Trump’s wealth has reached $6.5 billion, according to Forbes’ latest World’s Billionaires list from March 2026. This makes him the richest president in American history.

Analysts believe Trump’s net worth might be even higher than reported, since some of his profits are not publicly disclosed.

A major contributor to this is that Trump’s increased wealth is partly due to his involvement in cryptocurrency.

His family’s company, World Liberty Financial, started in September 2024 and made about $550 million from token sales in the past year.

Selling part of the company to Abu Dhabi’s Aryam Investment brought in another $200 million, and his remaining 38% stake is worth about $240 million.

Investments, Trump’s portfolio extends to media and real estate.

His Trump Media & Technology Group, parent company of Truth Social, boasts a market cap of $2.83 billion.

Meanwhile, licensing deals tied to the Trump brand have brought in $23 million since his re-election, with projects spanning hotels in Oman and golf courses in Riyadh and Hanoi.

Trump’s personal brand has also brought in millions from merchandise sales, such as $2.8 million from watches, $2.5 million from sneakers and fragrances, and $3 million from Bibles sold online. Entertainment deals have added more, with Amazon paying $28 million for a documentary about Melania Trump.

Trump’s real estate holdings keep growing in value. Mar-a-Lago is now worth $560 million, which is more than three times its value in 2018.

Settlements with major tech companies have added over $90 million to his wealth.

Currently ranked 645th among the world’s 3,428 billionaires, Trump is ranked 645th. His second term as president has come with major personal financial gains.

However, critics raise ethical concerns about possible conflicts of interest from his crypto and global business activities, question the transparency of his finances, and debate whether personal profit affects his decisions as president.
